RADTriage -TLD
RADTriage-TLD (also called SIRAD-TLD) is a dual-sensor dosimeter designed to offer best of the two best technologies in radiation dosimetry. It has a color developing sensor of RADTriage for instantly, visually monitoring dose above 50 mSv and a TLD (ThermoLuminescenceDosimeter) chip for monitoring dose accurately above 0.1 mSv with TLD reader. RADTriage-TLD are custom made in large quantity only.
RADTriage-TLD offers the most desired properties of RADTriage (seeing dose above 50 mSv) and TLD (measuring any dose, e.g., from 0.1 mSv – 10,000 mSv accurately with a reader). RADTriage can monitor above 50 mSv visually and instantly and TLD (which can be pulled out from RADTriage-TLD badge for repeated use can monitor dose as low as 0.1 mSv with a TLD reader.
Both sensors (RADTriage/diacetylene and TLD/lithium fluoride chip) are tissue equivalent, light, rugged, can be carried 24/7, affordable and do not need a power source. The TLD-element of RADTriage-TLD can be reused many times and can be assigned to the user for a life time. RADTriage-TLD where a TLD chip is sealed, can be used for first responders and military where they can carry all the time but need to monitor dose only if a radiological incident occurs.
RADTriage of RADTriage-TLD is needed during the first months of radiological emergency to minimize panic and worry and triaging radiation exposure. After a radiological incident, governments want to measure dose of children, pregnant women and people living in affected area to measure the low dose on routine basis (e.g., every month or three months) and calm the public that they are not exposed to high dose. First responders and military want to measure any low dose and high dose > 50 mSv (instantly) all the time. RADTriage-TLD where a TLD chip is sealed is more suitable for military and first responders.
